The “IAU Communication Awards” traditionally given by our university every year found their owners. 43 famous names from the communication and art community attended the ceremony where awards were given in areas such as culture, art, media and internet, which were determined by the votes of over a thousand students.
As a result of the voting organized with the participation of over 43 thousand students at the 16th “IAU Communication Awards” organized by Istanbul Aydın University this year, the best of the year were announced. Famous names from the communication and art community attended the ceremony where 26 different branches such as culture, art, media and internet and the grand honor award were presented.
Starting his speech with Ibn Sina’s quote “Science and art migrate from where they are not appreciated”, Istanbul Aydın University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın said, “Our awards were determined by the open votes of over 43 thousand students. Therefore, if we contribute to art, culture and science as a university, we are happy.”
AKEV Honorary Award was presented to veteran actress Perihan Savaş. Receiving her award from AKEV Vice Chairman Elif Aydın, the veteran actress said, “I started my career at the age of five, 60 years have passed. I spent 60 years loving my job, working hard and respecting everyone. If you want success, you have to love your job, work hard and respect people. This is very important throughout your life. It is not easy to be remembered from generation to generation for so many years. My advice to you is to please work hard and show respect. Also, if I received this award here today and if I am on stage as a woman, if I can do my profession, if I am free and if I can protect my rights, it is thanks to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.”
Selçuk Yöntem, the master artist who was selected as the Best Male Theater Actor of the Year by the youth, started his speech by expressing his thanks and said, “Theater is not a job done alone. It is a job done with dozens of people working behind the scenes. I would like to thank my teammates very much. You should definitely take a hold of art. Make an effort to hold it. If you cannot hold the end, be a good spectator.”
