“Intergenerational Solidarity” Event within the Scope of World Social Work Day

Within the scope of World Social Work Day, an event was organized through the collaboration of the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Health Sciences, Istanbul Aydın University, and the SHUDER Istanbul Branch, focusing on the theme “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Lasting Well-Being.” Social Work Professionals Atiye Yıldırım, İbrahim Çiftçi, and Kahraman Eroğlu participated in the event as speakers, and discussed the importance of intergenerational solidarity for the sustainability of social welfare, the needs of different age groups, the transfer of experience, and the role of social work interventions in strengthening intergenerational ties, drawing on their professional experiences. The program was conducted under the moderation of Yasemin Acar and Nisa Uluğ, second-year students of the Department of Social Work, and an interactive discussion environment was created through the contributions of students and participants. Held on March 18, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the IAU D Block Orange Hall, the event was a meaningful gathering that contributed to rethinking intergenerational solidarity from a social work perspective.
