OUR NATIONAL PRIDE WAS INTRODUCED AT THE SEMINAR.
A seminar on 5th Generation Fighter Aircraft Technologies was organized under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Ersin Arslan, Director of the Defense Industry Technologies Application and Research Center at Istanbul Aydın University.
The seminar featured guests from TUSAŞ, the main contractor company in the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) Development Project: Özen Ersoy, National Combat Aircraft Program Manager, and Dr. Tanyel Çakmak, National Combat Aircraft Technologies Chief. They discussed the process and development of the National Combat Aircraft.
Dr. Tanyel Çakmak provided an explanation of the activities undertaken in the field of technology. Introducing the aircraft’s technological infrastructure, program manager Özen Ersoy emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “The National Combat Aircraft is being designed with domestic and national resources, considering the capabilities and equipment that 5+ Generation fighter aircraft should possess.” Ersoy noted that the first flight is planned for November 2025.
Thanks to this project, Turkey will be able to compete with countries like the USA, Russia, and China in the world… It was emphasized that Turkey will be among the limited number of countries that possess the infrastructure and technology to produce a 5th generation fighter aircraft.
Thanks to the National Combat Aircraft (MMU), a 5th generation multi-role fighter aircraft designed and developed with domestic resources and capabilities, it is planned that F-16 aircraft will be gradually phased out of the Turkish Air Force inventory starting from the 2030s.
