The \u201c1st Symposium on Patient Safety in Pharmacotherapy,\u201d which constitutes the first scientific event of our faculty, was held in three sessions on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at T Block Turquoise Hall, with the participation of numerous academic staff and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium began with the opening speeches delivered by our esteemed Rector, Prof. Dr. \u0130brahim Hakk\u0131 Ayd\u0131n, and our Dean, Prof. Dr. A. Nurten \u00d6zdemir, followed by the first session, titled \u201cDrugs Used in Chronic Diseases \u2013 Session I\u201d<\/strong>, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fikret Vehbi \u0130zzettin and Prof. Dr. \u0130lkay K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fckg\u00fczel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this session, Prof. Dr. \u015eule Apiko\u011flu presented on \u201cMedication Errors,\u201d Prof. Dr. Elif G\u00fcls\u00fcm \u00dcmit on \u201cAnticoagulant, Antithrombotic and Thrombolytic Drugs,\u201d and Prof. Dr. Kubilay Kar\u015f\u0131da\u011f on \u201cAntidiabetic Drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second session, titled \u201cDrugs Used in Chronic Diseases \u2013 Session II\u201d<\/strong>, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fikret Vehbi \u0130zzettin and Prof. Dr. Yusuf \u00d6zt\u00fcrk, Prof. Dr. Mehmet A\u011f\u0131rba\u015fl\u0131 delivered a presentation on \u201cDrugs Used in Cardiovascular Diseases\u201dand Assoc. Prof. Dr. Song\u00fcl Tezcan presented \u201cPatient Safety in Oncological Drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final session, titled\u00a0\u201cThe Changing Role of Pharmacists in Drug Therapy and Pharmacovigilance Worldwide\u201d<\/strong>, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fikriye Uras and Prof. Dr. Bedia Kaymak\u00e7\u0131o\u011flu, Prof. Dr. Semra Sarda\u015f shared insights on\u00a0\u201cPharmacovigilance \/ Rational Drug Use\u201d<\/strong>, Prof. Dr. Mesut Sancar delivered a talk on\u00a0\u201cThe Changing Role of Pharmacists to Ensure Safe Medication Use Worldwide\u201d<\/strong>, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Kemale Leyla Bing\u00f6l presented\u00a0\u201cMalpractice in Drug Therapy and Its Legal Dimensions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
