The play “Avrupa,”<\/strong> written by David Greig<\/strong>, translated by Hakan Silahs\u0131zo\u011flu<\/strong>, and directed by the Head of the Drama and Acting Department, Prof. Mehmet Birkiye<\/strong>, premiered at the Cevahir 2 Stage on October 17, 2017. The production also features G\u00fcl\u015fah F\u0131r\u0131nc\u0131o\u011flu<\/strong>, an expert staff member of our department, in the cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The creative team includes \u015eirin Da\u011ftekin Yenen<\/strong> for set and costume design, Yakup \u00c7art\u0131k<\/strong> for lighting design, and the department’s Movement instructor, Alpaslan Karaduman<\/strong>, for choreography. The music for the play was composed by F\u0131rat Akarcal\u0131<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Europe” tells the story of two undocumented refugees who arrive in a border town facing social and economic decay. While fleeing the war in their own country, they become victims of the tension that economic struggles have created among the local population. The characters are brought to life by D\u00fcndar M\u00fcft\u00fco\u011flu, Atilla \u015eendil, Eylem Y\u0131ld\u0131z, Umut Tabak, G\u00fcl\u015fah F\u0131r\u0131nc\u0131o\u011flu, Ferdi Alver, Zuhal Acar<\/strong>, and our department graduates G\u00f6kay Akg\u00f6r, Hakan Yeni, Burak \u00c7i\u00e7ek, Ferit \u00c7elik<\/strong>, and Ahmet Armutlu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
