On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the “1st Patient Safety in Drug Therapy Symposium,” the first scientific event of our faculty, was held in three sessions in the Turquoise Hall of Block T, with the participation of numerous academic staff and students. Following the opening speeches by our Rector, Prof. Dr. \u0130brahim Hakk\u0131 Ayd\u0131n, and our Dean, Prof. Dr. A. Nurten \u00d6zdemir, the symposium began with Session I on Drugs Used in Chronic Diseases, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fikret Vehbi \u0130zzettin and Prof. Dr. \u0130lkay K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fckg\u00fczel. Prof. Dr. \u015eule Apiko\u011flu gave a presentation on “Drug Errors,” Prof. Dr. Elif G\u00fcls\u00fcm \u00dcmit on “Anticoagulant, Antiplatelet and Thrombolytic Drugs,” and Prof. Dr. Kubilay Kar\u015f\u0131da\u011f on “Diabetic Drugs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dr. Fikret Vehbi \u0130zzettin and Prof. Dr. In Session II on Medications Used in Chronic Diseases, chaired by Yusuf \u00d6zt\u00fcrk, Prof. Dr. Mehmet A\u011f\u0131rba\u015fl\u0131 spoke on “Drugs Used in Cardiovascular Diseases” and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Song\u00fcl Tezcan spoke on “Patient Safety in Oncological Drugs”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fikriye Uras and Prof. Dr. Bedia Kaymak\u00e7\u0131o\u011flu, on the Changing Role of Pharmacists in Drug Therapy and Pharmacovigilance Worldwide, Prof. Dr. Semra Sarda\u015f spoke on “Pharmacovigilance\/Rational Drug Use”, Prof. Dr. Mesut Sancar spoke on “The Role of Pharmacists is Changing Worldwide to Ensure Safe Drug Use”, and Dr. Kemale Leyla Bing\u00f6l shared information and experiences on “Malpractice and its Legal Aspects in Drug Therapy”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
