As the Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul Ayd\u0131n University, we organized two online panels titled \u201cClimate Change and Healthcare Sustainability<\/em><\/strong>\u201d and \u201cThe Formula for Sustainable Living \u2013 Perspectives on Health, Food, and Environment<\/em><\/strong>\u201d within the scope of the STAR Global Conference 2025. These panels explored the effects of climate change on health, the essential components of sustainable living, and the environment\u2013health relationship from the perspectives of multiple disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first panel titled \u201cClimate Change and Healthcare Sustainability<\/em><\/strong>,\u201d Dr. Vildan Bayram, Prof. Dr. Fikriye Uras, Prof. Dr. Mehmet A\u011f\u0131rba\u015fl\u0131 and Dr. Can Polat Teker participated as speakers. The panel addressed topics such as the impacts of global climate change, the environmental role of the healthcare sector, the connection between air pollution and cardiovascular diseases, and the pharmaceutical industry’s influence on climate change\u2014discussing the multidimensional interaction between environment and health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second panel, titled \u201cThe Formula for Sustainable Living \u2013 Perspectives on Health, Food, and Environment<\/em><\/strong>,\u201d was moderated by Prof. Dr. Sevgi Karaku\u015f and included contributions from Dr. Gizem Sena Elag\u00f6z, Assoc. Prof. \u00d6zge \u0130nal, Clinical Pharmacist Burcu Onay, and Food Engineer Batuhan \u0130nanlar. The panel examined the holistic connections among health, nutrition, and the environment through topics such as the role of mycotoxins in food safety, sustainable beauty approaches, waste medicine management in pharmacies, and the environmental effects of plant-based nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both panels provided participants with up-to-date knowledge from a sustainability perspective and served as a scientific platform that raised awareness on environmental and health-related issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
