While the play was directed by the Head of the Department of Drama and Acting at Istanbul Ayd\u0131n University&#8217;s Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Mehmet Birkiye, the production drew attention with its strong cast and stage direction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The play, staged under the Istanbul State Theatre, had its premiere on the evening of Friday, May 2nd, at the \u00dcsk\u00fcdar Tekel Stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our former faculty member Ay\u015fe Lebriz Berkem took part in the cast, while the choreography was prepared by well-known contemporary dance artist Tu\u011f\u00e7e Tuna. Also, alumni of Istanbul Ayd\u0131n University Dilara Demird\u00fczen, Do\u011fa Yi\u011fit, Senanur Alt\u0131n, Emirhan Ayd\u0131n, Beyza Nur Bilici, and our postgraduate student Ercan \u015eekerci also performed in the play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We congratulate all our graduates, academicians, and students who contributed to this successful production where academic knowledge and stage experience come together, and we look forward to seeing more projects that reflect the connective power of art.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anton Chekhov&#8217;s classic play Uncle Vanya met with theatre lovers on the stage of Istanbul State Theatre.
