Advising young people to turn to sports to get rid of bad habits, Prof. Dr. Aydın said, “If you want to get rid of a bad habit, whatever you call it, you can call it computer addiction or another habit, the only way to get rid of it is sports. There are thousands of types, thousands of different areas, every young person, every person can find something from there and adapt it to his life according to his own structure, situation, position, job, health, age, weight.”

“Every club, every community has different expectations”

Basketball Federation President Hidayet Türkoğlu, when asked about the difference between being a sportsman and a manager, said, “You cannot manage easily, sometimes you are selfish in these processes. Especially as an athlete, you feel like the world revolves around you. From time to time we have difficulties. Because everyone’s expectations are different and we fall short in terms of meeting everyone’s needs. Because the clubs have different perspectives, expectations and organizations. When we say communities, they all have a different agenda. But we always think that we manage the process well with good dialogues.”

Referring to the sense of trust between athletes, doctors and healthcare professionals, Türkoğlu said, “What everyone wants to talk about here is actually everyone’s trust in each other. Trusting our dietician, our physiotherapist, our conditioning, our doctor… We spend a certain part of our lives with sacrifices and with these people. We are here for a purpose. Due to our job, we spend more time with these teams than with our families.”
