Umut Kaya, a graduate of Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Textile and Fashion Design, came second in the Koza Young Fashion Designers Competition organized by Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association (IHKIB) since 1992, which is the most important platform that brings young talents who want to make a career in fashion design to the sector.
The final of the competition, which was held for the 32nd time this year, was completed with a magnificent gala night at Raffles Hotel. The event was attended by Mustafa Gültepe, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Mustafa Paşahan, Vice President of İHKİB, Nejdet Ayaydın, President of the Koza Jury and leading names of the sector. Speaking at the event, TIM President Mustafa Gültepe stated that design is one of the most important values of the sector and said:
“There are several ways to add value to a product. Design is the most important of them. For this reason, our priority has always been design and we have been organizing Koza for 32 years. Most of the designers who shape the sector today came out of Koza.”
Umut Kaya, a graduate of Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Textile and Fashion Design, who achieved a proud success at the night, won the second prize in the competition and attracted attention. We congratulate our graduate Umut Kaya and wish him continued success.
