THE FIRST OF THE “POLITICAL CONVERSATIONS” WAS HELD.

The first of a series of conferences titled “Political Conversations,” planned to be held monthly by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Istanbul Aydın University, took place with the participation of Prof. Dr. Akile Gürsoy.

Organized by the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and moderated by Dr. Canan Tercan, the “Political Conversations” conference featured Prof. Dr. Akile Gürsoy. The topic of this month’s inaugural conference, planned as a monthly event, was Celal Bayar, a cornerstone of Turkish political history.

Prof. Dr. Akile Gürsoy, granddaughter of the late Celal Bayar, the 3rd President of the Republic of Turkey, discussed his life and political stance. The conference covered topics such as the founding of the Republic, memories from Çankaya (the presidential palace), and the May 27th coup. The conference, which saw high student participation, was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Yadigâr İzmirli, who presented Prof. Dr. Gürsoy with a plaque. The event concluded with the presentation of a plaque to Akile Gürsoy.
