Participation in the 6th Scientific Research Summit: Brain Rot in 3rd Millennium Youth

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hale Torun, a faculty member of the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, participated as an invited speaker and delivered a presentation at the event titled “6th Scientific Research Summit: Brain Rot in 3rd Millennium Youth,” organized by Üsküdar University on Wednesday, May 21. In her presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hale Torun shared her research centered on the question of whether artificial intelligence can possess consciousness. She emphasized that while artificial intelligence lacks a spiritual core due to the absence of a body and lived experience, it nevertheless raises significant questions worthy of discussion from philosophical and ethical perspectives.
