Social Work Practices in Alcohol and Substance Addiction Field

Within the scope of the event organized by the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Health Sciences, Istanbul Aydın University, social work practices in the field of alcohol and substance addiction were addressed. In the program, Specialist Clinical Psychologist Selçuk Hakan Avşar (Küçükçekmece Social Service Center) participated as a speaker, and the role of social work in combating addiction, intervention approaches, case processes, and inter-institutional collaboration were evaluated through practice-based examples. The event was conducted under the moderation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mira Assadi and was enriched through discussions of students’ questions regarding field experiences and professional practice. Held at 1:00 p.m. in December 2024 at the D Block Blue Hall, the event provided an important learning and awareness-raising environment for social work professionals and students working in the field of addiction.
