A Grand Welcome to Future Engineers: A Strong Beginning from IAU Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering Department of Istanbul Aydın University welcomed the 2025-2026 academic year with a comprehensive orientation program titled “Hello to Mechanical Engineering for a Bright Future” organized for newly enrolled students.
Led by Prof. Dr. Ersin Arslan, the program included department introduction sessions, laboratory tours, and experience-sharing talks by honor graduate students, aiming to enhance students’ professional motivation and sectoral awareness. With strong participation from academic staff and industry representatives, the event supported students’ rapid adaptation to university life.
As part of the orientation, representatives from the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers (TMMOB MMO) Istanbul Branch delivered seminars on the legal framework of the mechanical engineering profession, the role of the professional chamber in career development, and student membership processes. Students had the opportunity to learn about sectoral expectations from experts at the very beginning of their academic journey.
One of the most inspiring moments of the event was the speech delivered by a recent graduate who completed the program with honors. Sharing real experiences from their educational journey provided a powerful role model for new students.
Laboratory and workshop visits organized within the program enabled students to meet the academic staff and closely observe the department’s research infrastructure.
Completed under the motto “Hello to Mechanical Engineering for a Bright Future,” the orientation provided a strong start for students to connect academic knowledge with professional practice throughout their education.
