The White Coat Ceremony Marked the First Step for Future Pharmacists
On March 12, 2025, the “1st Year White Coat Ceremony,” an event of great significance for our first-year students at Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Pharmacy, was held with great enthusiasm at the A Block Hasan Fehmi Büyükbayram Conference Hall. This important milestone in students’ professional journey created emotional moments with the participation of academics, families, and guests.
In her opening speech, Prof. Dr. A. Nurten Özdemir, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, proudly stated that Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Pharmacy is the second most preferred foundation university pharmacy faculty in Türkiye. She emphasized that the education students will receive here will contribute greatly not only to their professional development but also to their academic and scientific progress.
Vice President of the Anadolu and Culture Education Foundation Elif Aydın highlighted the importance of the white coat in the pharmacy profession and stated that students should act with a strong sense of responsibility as they take their first step into this honorable profession.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Sınağ noted that Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Pharmacy not only provides high-quality education but also supports students in academic fields such as article writing, projects, and research, helping them become well-equipped individuals.
Another emotional moment occurred when Gizem Seyis, the student who ranked first in YKS among those placed in the faculty, delivered a heartfelt speech. She emphasized that the university would equip them not only academically but also in all areas of life, expressing her pride in being among the first students of the newly established pharmacy faculty, and thanking her family, teachers, and friends.
The highlight of the ceremony was the moment when first-year students proudly donned their white coats and took their first step into professional life. This meaningful ceremony provided great motivation to students on their journey to becoming successful pharmacists of the future.
