The 2nd Academic Board Meeting of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the 2025–2026 Academic Year Was Held
The second Academic Board Meeting of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the year 2025 was held on December 15, 2025, at the T Block Court Hall. The meeting was attended by Istanbul Aydın University Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Füsun Terzioğlu and Prof. Dr. İlkay Karaduman, as well as the academic staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
In his opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın wished the academic staff a successful and productive academic year. Emphasizing that faculty members are the fundamental component of the university and the direct actors in education, he shared his evaluations on areas that could be further developed across the university. He also highlighted the importance of producing high-quality publications and projects to advance in international rankings such as the THE and QS Rankings, stating that the university administration will continue to support academic work throughout this process.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Nurten Özdemir, stated in her speech that as the end of 2025 approaches, the targets set for the faculty within the framework of the “Management by Objectives” approach have been achieved at a rate exceeding 100%. Despite being a relatively young faculty, she emphasized that the Faculty of Pharmacy holds a strong position in terms of both national and international academic activities.
Prof. Dr. Özdemir underlined that the faculty’s activities are not limited to undergraduate education alone, and that significant steps have also been taken at the graduate level. In this context, she shared that the necessary applications have been submitted for the establishment of thesis and non-thesis master’s programs in Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry. She also noted that the university will host the FEBS Congress in 2027, an event expected to make a significant contribution to the university’s international visibility while strengthening its scientific infrastructure and institutional prestige, and that preparatory work has already begun accordingly.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Füsun Terzioğlu expressed her satisfaction with the contributions made by the Faculty of Pharmacy faculty members to the project workshop held recently. Emphasizing the importance of the theme of “Sustainability,” she conveyed her expectation that the support provided to research centers will continue sustainably and be expanded to include additional centers.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlkay Karaduman drew attention to the elements of academic reputation that affect universities’ visibility in international rankings. He emphasized that surveys distributed by national and international organizations should be completed carefully and diligently by faculty members, as they play a crucial role in institutional rankings.
