2024-2025 Academic Year Opening Held at Our Medical Faculty

Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Medicine welcomed its new students for the 2024-2025 academic year with a ceremony. The opening, attended by the Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, the President of our Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, our Acting Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın, the Dean of the Medical Faculty Prof. Dr. Halil Alış, and many academics and students, attracted great interest.

Making the opening speech of the ceremony, Istanbul Aydın University Medical Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Halil Alış said, “Dear future physicians, I look at you with emotion. Teaching you this profession is a great responsibility. Personally, I feel crushed under this responsibility. We aim for you to be good people. Because if you are a good person, you can empathize. Welcome once again to all of you.”

Acting Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın stated, “Today, we have come together at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic term. Welcome to all of you. Medicine is not just a profession, but also an art performed with love and a great responsibility.”

The President of our Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, expressed, “First of all, I offer my gratitude to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu. You, by God’s leave, will make a name for yourselves as fireflies. You are studying at a university that will be pointed out as exemplary in Turkey. I thank all my companions who have supported us in bringing this university to this point. I am glad to have you.

Speaking in the final part of the ceremony, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, said, “This is an educational home and the future of the country. Idealism is not just a word, but also a success story. In the future, you will not only practice medicine, you will be the leaders of this society. Idealism and dedication will lead you to success. You are here because each of you possesses these qualities. Turkey is at a very good point in terms of health. It ranks among the best in the world. From this point on, we need a country that says something new and gifts something new to the world.”
