The 2nd White Coat Ceremony of the Faculty of Pharmacy Was Held
As part of the May 14th Pharmacy Day celebrations, the “2nd White Coat Ceremony” organized for first-year students of the Turkish and English Pharmacy Programs at Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Pharmacy was held at 2:00 PM in the Hasan Fehmi Büyükbayram Conference Hall located in Block A.
The ceremony was coordinated by Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Sevgi Karakuş and hosted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Merve Ataman. The opening speech was delivered by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Füsun Terzioğlu. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Elif Aydın, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of AKEV, faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, students, and their families.
During the ceremony, which marked a meaningful milestone for students wearing their white coats as a symbol of their first steps into the profession, emotional speeches were delivered by Günce Melek Çöplü, a top-ranking student admitted to the Pharmacy (Turkish) Program through the national university entrance examination, and Elif Özbay, a student of the Pharmacy (English) Program. Their speeches emphasized the responsibility symbolized by the white coat, the value of the pharmacy profession, and their gratitude toward their families.
A violin performance presented by second-year medical students Hacer Özmen and İrem Naz Sezen created a special atmosphere in the foyer area before the ceremony and provided enjoyable moments for the guests. In addition, the decorations prepared by the students of the PharmAydın Pharmacy Club and their contributions to the event area helped create a more colorful and lively atmosphere for the organization.
We would like to thank all faculty members, students, and families who contributed to this meaningful ceremony, which strengthened the sense of professional belonging and crowned our students’ first steps in their pharmacy journey in a memorable way.
