One of our undergraduate students has contributed as a co-author to a chapter in an academically published book. This achievement demonstrates that our students can engage in scientific publication processes at an early stage through a research-oriented educational approach and actively contribute to academic writing and interdisciplinary studies

A preparation meeting for the second semester will be held on 11 February 2026 at 15:00 via Zoom for the students of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering (English). The meeting will cover second-semester courses, academic expectations, and departmental regulation.

Prof. Dr. Ferdi Sönmez was appointed as consultant within the TÜBİTAK International Cooperation Department for European Union Framework Programs. In this role, he contributed to academic project evaluation processes, supported the development of international research collaborations, and enhanced the scientific visibility of the university through active participation in international research networks.

Research Assistant Mustafa Karasu delivered a seminar titled Software and Coding for students within the cooperation between Istanbul Aydin University and Esenler District Directorate of National Education. The event increased awareness of software fields, encouraged students toward information technologies, and provided meaningful social contribution by supporting digital literacy and early career orientation.

In December 2025, Prof. Dr. Ferdi Sönmez served as reviewer and monitor for six projects within the TÜBİTAK TEYDEB program. During this process, the scientific quality, innovation level, and feasibility of projects were evaluated, contributing to academic quality assurance and supporting the continuous development of research culture.

Prof. Dr. Ferdi Sönmez, Head of the Software Engineering Department, served as moderator in the panel organized within the Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship Summit coordinated by IAU TEKMER. The event addressed digital transformation, entrepreneurship culture, and innovation in software, creating an interactive academic environment through active participation and professional discussion.
