Within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools Support Program, our project, led by Research Assistant Zeynep TÜRK from Istanbul Aydın University, with contributions from the Elazığ Provincial National Education Directorate, Elazığ Provincial Special Administration, Elazığ Science Center, AKEV, and support from Nestle, will be implemented next week. This project, titled “Doing Science in Nature!-2,” targets 50 earthquake-affected students aged 10-12 whose homes were severely damaged in the Elazığ earthquake and who have not participated in TÜBİTAK projects. The project will take place between June 19-25, 2022, at a campsite to be established at the Elazığ Science Center and by Lake Hazar. Under the guidance of a psychological counselor, the project will include scientific activities designed to help students easily retain scientific information, develop their inquiry skills in STEM, ecology, astronomy, art, sports, games-movement, and music, as well as games raising earthquake awareness and argument-based interactive activities allowing them to observe nature.
