Istanbul Aydın University achieved a remarkable success by ranking 1st among foundation universities at the Introduction and Awards Night which is organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TUSF). The university attracted attention with its outstanding performance in TUSF’s national activities and made its mark internationally with its achievements in the EUSA European University Sports Association organizations.
The event that is held at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University’s İtri Hall, witnessed great enthusiasm, and was attended by General Director of Sports Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Prof. Dr. Veli Ozan Çakır, Secretary General of the Council of Higher Education Batıkan Aksoy, and numerous university rectors, federation presidents, athletes, coaches, and media representatives.
During the ceremony, universities representing Türkiye with distinction in FISU (International University Sports Federation) and EUSA (European University Sports Association) competitions, as well as institutions, coaches, and media representatives who excelled in TUSF’s national activities, received their awards.
In this context, Istanbul Aydın University ranked 4th among the universities winning the most medals in TUSF’s national activities and secured the 1st place among foundation universities, marking a significant achievement. With its accomplishments in both individual and team sports, the university once again proved its contribution to the development of university sports in Türkiye.
Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer, and Head of the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports Hüseyin Şahin represented Istanbul Aydın University at the ceremony. Accepting the award on behalf of the university, the representatives showed IAU’s strong position in sports and stated that the support provided to help students achieve success in all disciplines would continue to grow.
