Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır visited our university and held a comprehensive evaluation meeting on Turkey’s national technology moves. Within the scope of the visit, the university’s work in the field of technology and innovation was discussed and technologically oriented change and transformation processes in higher education were discussed. The university’s scientific and technological projects, entrepreneurship ecosystem and innovative studies that contribute to domestic and national technology were discussed in detail at the meeting.
During the visit, a large-scale meeting was held with the participation of our Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, our Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın, expert academic staff, faculty deans and university administration. During the meeting, important topics regarding the technology-oriented transformation of higher education, artificial intelligence, digitalization and entrepreneurship ecosystem were discussed. A comprehensive presentation was made about Istanbul Aydın University’s achievements in the field of technology and innovation, scientific research projects and strategic goals for the future. In particular, entrepreneurs operating within IAU TEKMER had the opportunity to present their projects to the Minister. These projects included health technologies, artificial intelligence-supported solutions, mobile applications and innovative ideas for the defense industry.
While detailed information about the university’s technology-oriented education vision and entrepreneurship ecosystem was shared, projects that will contribute to Tükriye’s domestic and national technology journey were emphasized. Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır appreciated the scientific infrastructure and opportunities offered by the university and emphasized the need to increase cooperation between the academic world and industry. He made suggestions to encourage the participation of students and academics in R&D projects and to strengthen university-industry cooperation.
Following the meeting, a special meeting was held with the successful student teams of the university. The Psychod Team, which ranked 2nd in the Technological Applications Category and 3rd in the Champions League at TEKNOFEST 2024, was awarded by Mr. Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology. Psikod Team has achieved a great success by pioneering technology integration in the field of psychology with the Mobile Game Therapy Room (MOTO) and Artificial Intelligence Supported MOTO Portal projects. These projects aim to demonstrate the positive contribution of technology to human psychology by offering game-based psychological support systems, especially for children and young people. The Minister congratulated the team and noted that such projects should be further expanded and supported in the future.
In addition, the NOVA UAV Team, which won the best team spirit award at TEKNOFEST 2024, received their awards from the hands of the Minister. The team, which conducts important studies on UAV technologies, attracted attention with their projects developed for the defense industry. The university’s achievements in the field of technology and innovation are of great value both academically and industrially.
At the end of the visit, Minister of Industry and Technology Kacır visited the university laboratories and examined the R&D studies carried out on site. Stating that the technical infrastructure offered by the university makes important contributions to Turkey’s domestic and national technology move, he wished the students and academicians success in their work. The officials of our university, on the other hand, stated that they will sign more projects in the field of technology and innovation at national and international level and will continue to contribute to the country’s technology ecosystem.
