At the General Assembly of the UNESCO Turkish National Commission, held in Ankara on May 16, 2026, and chaired by the Minister of National Education, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin, a significant achievement was realized. As a result of its work aligned with the mission and objectives of UNESCO, Dr. Osman Gültekin, representing the UNESCO Chair on Cultural Diplomacy, Governance, and Education at Istanbul Aydın University, has been elected as a Member of the General Assembly in the field of Higher Education – Social Sciences and Humanities.
