The 2025–2026 Academic Opening Ceremony was held at our university. The ceremony, organized at Social Sciences Campus of Istanbul Aydın University (IAU), was attended by the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın, as well as academicians and students.
Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin stated at the opening ceremony, “We have now reached a threshold that is defined by the network society, data-driven economy, and the age of artificial intelligence. We must see this threshold as a transformation in which individuals and societies are compelled to redefine themselves. In such a period, the primary priority of our education policies is to represent a strong will that wants to eliminate what is wrong while restoring and constructing what is right in accordance with this transformation.”
“Create value for your country by doing extraordinary things“
IAU Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın stated, “If people don’t get amazed when they see the work you produce, then throw it away. You must do extraordinary, not ordinary, things. Only then can you create added value for your countries. You need to demonstrate the will to do not what everyone does, but what others cannot do. Also, always show respect to your professors. You cannot receive knowledge from a professor you do not respect. You must establish that heartfelt path of respect, so that you can receive knowledge from your professors with the warmth you desire. Because they educate you not only with their minds but also with their hearts. Never forget this.”
“We are progressing with a vision prioritizing sustainability in internationalization”
IAU Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın underlined the university’s goals to enhance its scientific production capacity by stating, “As IAU, we are moving forward with a vision that prioritizes quality in education, innovation in research, and sustainability in internationalization. We mobilize all of our resources to ensure that our students are raised not only with professional competencies, but also with critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving, and a sense of ethical responsibility. I wish the new academic year to bring new achievements to our students and academicians.”
