GREAT ACHIEVEMENT FROM OUR GRADUATE
İAU graduate Şakir Buldan ranked second in the 30th Koza Young Designers Competition, winning a prize of 75,000 Turkish Lira and earning the right to receive education in Italy.
At the 30th Koza Young Designers Competition, our graduate Şakir Buldan from the Fashion Design Department of Anadolu Bil Vocational School (ABMYO) achieved second place. With this success, Buldan both earned the opportunity to study in Italy and won a prize of 75,000 Turkish Lira. He also gained the opportunity to showcase his collection at Fashion Week next year. As the İAU Family, we congratulate him and wish him continued success.
The awards of the 30th Koza Young Fashion Designers Competition, organized by the Istanbul Apparel and Ready-to-Wear Exporters’ Association (İHKİB), were presented following an enjoyable fashion show held in Istanbul. The event, hosted by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and İHKİB President Mustafa Gültepe along with members of the İHKİB Board of Directors, was attended by union and association presidents as well as representatives of the sector. Among the distinguished members of the press, influencers, and leading figures of the fashion world who shared the excitement of the young designers at the magnificent night—where finalists prepared under the mentorship of Özlem Kaya and Şansım Adalı—were Selin Yeninci, Şevval Şahin, Cihan Nacar, Arzu Kunt, Sinem Yıldırım, Ezgi Karayel, Yusuf Akgün, Derev Clara Kösedağ, and Neva Dürüst.
At the ceremony hosted by Oylum Talu, Şakir Buldan, our graduate, won second place with his Cherry Blossom Girl collection among the 10 designers who showcased their collections in the final. Buldan earned overseas education support as well as the opportunity to attend a one-year English language training program in Turkey and to be promoted in international media. In addition, he gained the chance to participate in Istanbul Fashion Academy’s Fashion Design and Management Master Class Diploma Program, the right to visit an international fair related to the sector, a one-year membership in the Fashion Designers Association, and his women’s collections will be offered for sale in the stores of selected leading brands.
