Dr. Mesut Batuhan Çankır, Head of The Cartoon and Animation Bachelor’sDegree Programme at Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Fine Arts, organized a comprehensive technical field trip to the Istanbul Archaeology Museums with third-yearstudents. In this activity, which aimed to support the theoretical knowledge in the curriculumwith practical observations, students examined historical artifacts on-site in terms of form, structure, and texture. This field study, conducted in line with international educationstandards and quality assurance policies, increased students’ awareness of cultural heritagewhile adding depth to their artistic production processes and elevating their technicalcompetencies to the level of sectoral expectations.

Göktuğ Özgül, a graduate of The Cartoon and Animation Bachelor’s DegreeProgramme, was the guest speaker for the latest session of the “Alumni Speak on Campus” event series. This event was organized through the collaboration of the Istanbul Aydın University Alumni and Members Association and the Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Fine Arts. During the event, Göktuğ Özgül shared his industry experiences and ongoingprojects, presenting sample works from his portfolio to our students. Furthermore, he provided valuable insights into the animation and gaming sectors and answered questionsfrom our curious students.

On July 1, 2025, a graduation exhibition was held at P Block Galeri Aydın, featuring posters of short films prepared by senior students of The Cartoon and AnimationBachelor’s Degree Programme as part of their “Graduation Project” course. This event, representing the final outputs of the academic curriculum, showcased the technical and artisticcompetencies students acquired throughout their education. The works, developed in line withthe expectations of the creative industries, successfully reflected the department’s qualitystandards.
