The obstacles faced by individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, often the result of social structures and individual attitudes, are a significant issue that must be addressed not only at the individual level but also at the social level. In this context, the student poster exhibition titled “Disability/Sizken” organized by the Graphic Design Department of Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Fine Arts, on the occasion of December 3rd, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, aims to critically highlight these issues through poster designs. The exhibition features a total of 26 posters created by students.
The focus of the exhibition is on the neglect and violation of the rights of individuals with disabilities and the discriminatory attitudes they face in social life. The posters created by second-year students of the Graphic Design Department as part of the Social Responsibility Project form the basis of this year’s national exhibition. The event is planned to be expanded in the future with the participation of design students from various universities. This will support young designers in their socially responsible production and increase the visibility of disability-themed awareness initiatives among university students.
